Only have two hours left then I’m heading back to Carlisle for the weekend! Gonna spend some time with my dogs and work on finishing the beat to this track I’ve been playing around with the past week. Did some sampling for my buddy Jimi so he could work on a new beat as well so hopefully on Sunday I’ll have some tracks to write for. It’s been a while since I’ve recorded a full track. At least one that I felt comfortable releasing to the public. I’m really excited about my day off tomorrow probably just going to take it easy. I haven’t decided whether I’m gonna see that New Moon yet. If I do it’ll probably be tomorrow. I’m more of a True Blood fan I thought the first Twilight was more of a chick flick. I might be jumping on stage with Watson Park next Saturday up in northern kentucky for a show at the mad hatter so looking forward to that. I got a chance to work with them a few times earlier this year and recorded a cover of “Beautiful” If you haven’t heard our collab yet feel free to d-load it here

Hello world. I’m currently sitting at work waiting for things to get busy. Probably won’t take too much time. I’m going heavy on the hand sanitizer/lysol cause there is a girl that works here who came in sick and I’m freaking out because it sounds like she’s got the flu. Now I’m not against coming into work alittle under the weather but it you’ve got tissues and cough drops and think you have the flu. Why not stay at home so we don’t catch it. Just a thought. Especially with that H1N1 crap floating around. Or maybe I’m just being paranoid. Gonna get that flu shot here pretty soon. Never got one before actually. Tomorrow is payday so I’m excited about that. Gonna change cell plans this weekend. It’s actually been kinda nice without a cell phone. Kind of freeing in a way. But I know I need one for work so I’ll be hooking it up probably sat. I miss my dogs so it’ll be nice to get home and see them this weekend. Well that’s about it for now guess I’ll catch ya later

Week 2

Week two of work started today. I’m trying to stay positive and keep my focus on the bigger picture. I’m making good money. I’m back in Lexington where it all started for me. And more importantly I’m living closer to friends that I didn’t get to see a whole lot of living way out in Carlisle. I’m 11 tracks into my second album right now. Plan to release it exclusively onto iTunes independently around Christmas. Not gonna bother with the hard copies this time around since most of my “23” sales were digital. I’m still doing shows though it’s been a while since I’ve done one solo. Got a huge show Rock the benefit coming up with Watson Park where I’ll get on stage and do a feature at the Madison Theater. That’s on the 18th so mark your calendars!

Laptop Rappers Unite!

SO- I guess I’m a laptop rapper. I don’t really have a dj and I perform with a laptop so I wonder if I fit into the Nerdcore catagory. My buddy Josh up in Jersey schooled me to some similar artists that do what I do. I never really considered it but artists such as MC Lars and Paul Barman are very similar to the sound I make. I don’t think I’m 100% nerd but I’m probably about 80% the other 20% is reserved for drinking guinness and pimpin hoes. Just kiddin. About the hoes. Anyways.. it’s 7:14 in the AM and I haven’t been to sleep yet and I’m really hungry so I am considering driving into town to get some breakfast.

New Album/Update

So I have been taking a break from recording the second album for a while. I had a reunion recently up in NJ and then once I got back I’ve been doing a lot of work at my families retreat center out here in Carlisle. Helping to build a goat barn believe it or not. It would seem like it wouldn’t be that bad. But where we were digging the post holes was like digging through concrete with all the rocks and we had to get down to 4ft. So I was using a country jack hammer which is basically a long metal rod that you slam into the ground to crack the rocks. Yep. Anyways beyond that I have been doing a lot of shows this year. Well more than usual. Last year I did 0. This year I’m up to around 7. The goal is to get to 30 before the year is over with. A bit ambitious I guess but even if I don’t hit the mark I will be in a lot better shape than last year. So far a lot of the material I have been recording for the new album has been geared to performing it. Where as the last album 23 was made as an album where I didn’t really intend on performing it that much. So far I’ve performed a few of the newer tracks that I’ve recorded this year like “Still Life” which is one of my favorites but probably won’t go on the new album. And “2 Pills” which is definitely going on there. Probably going to shoot a video for that one. But anyways I’ve got a long way to go and I’m not gonna rush anything because I want this album to really show how far I’ve come musically over the past few years. Below is a picture of where I’m at right now. “I love Cali” is just at two verses right now because I’m hoping to collab with someone on it and the new instrumental is a beat I finished last night.

Last night I saw Star Trek. It was amazing! It was true to the original and definitely shocked the franchise back to life. I never considered myself a trekkie in that I don’t dress up in costumes and go to those conventions. But am I a hardcore fan..? yes. And it lived up to all my expectations and exeeded them. So go see it already!!! Right now I’m listening to Relapse. Great album so far can’t wait to hear the rest. I am definitely gonna get it when it comes out in two weeks!

What up Tumblr! I am back on this thing to let you know what I’m doing. And probably less than 5 people will read this. So to you select few that are reading my words right now. I am happy to announce that I will be attending Star Trek this evening! The first showing in Lex. Can’t wait to see this thing. I did the Fandango last week so I don’t have to wait in line I’m that thorough. Hopefully there won’t be any projector mishaps like in Wolverine. I would be extremely upset if that happened. Anyways that’s what’s up right now. My music page is doing well on Myspace. Been getting a lot of positive responses to my album 23 from people who have never heard of me before. Today was a good day. I spent the whole day with my family and we ended up taking my niece and nephew to the movies to see monsters vs aliens. I didn’t see that one though I went to see Observe and Report with Seth Rogen. I thought it was okay but it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I have to get up early and sing tomorrow for Easter. That should be interesting. I haven’t gotten my post on in a long time so I’m gonna try to keep this thing going strong now that the nice weather is back. That means hopefully I should have more exciting things to talk about.

my job is strange to me sometimes. I see so many people in my job and yet all I seem to remember is blurs. I can focus on a few people but that many people just seem to blur together. of course filling out paperwork all day tends to fry the brain anyways. I liked my job at first but it becomes increasingly harder to tolerate. I just keep focusing on my goal. The money comes and goes but I am trying really hard to hold onto it. This time last year I was working at the same place but I had a different job and the same goal. Only last year I pissed away all my money on ipods and 360 games. This year I must learn from last year. Although I really want the Dr. Dre Beats headphones for christmas. Hopefully I can work that out. The goal I mentioned earlier is to get back to California. Meet up with my agent and stop running away from something that I feel like I’m destined to be great at.

It’s been a minute since I’ve put out the word. Right now I’ve got a new direction I’m focusing on as far as my music is concerned. I’m excited about it and that’s all I’m gonna say for now. Some exciting ideas are filling my brain and I think I’ll have an opportunity to spread my music in front of more people than I have ever dreamed of if it all works out. I’m gonna work really hard and continue my hustle at the 10-7. That’s all for now but I’ll be back again.

I just put a 40 hour work week behind me and now it’s time to have some fun! I started back at my old job at integrity staffing as a project coordinator aka recruiter hiring people for jobs at amazon. So far I’ve lost count how many people I’ve placed on jobs. But I remember all of them. I gotta say it feels good doing what I do. I actually enjoy my job and it’s not music. I didn’t think that was possible. It’s not as fun as music and at times I want to reenact the scene from office space where they destroy the copy machine. But at the end of the day it’s a good feeling. I am really tired and dunno if I’m up to partying it up tonight. But there is a chance I’ll hit up the bars later. I hope next week goes even better!

Today is turning out to be pretty good. I got all the stuff I needed to do for the day done and now I’m just killing time before I go into Lexington to chill with my buddies. I got my job back at Integrity and I start on Monday. I’m supposed to get the proof of my cd in today. I’m pretty excited about that. I’m taking my recording stuff over to my friends tonight so we might get an outline done for my next album. And that’s about it I guess. Time to focus on work and getting that money saved up.
